AROUND THE FARM

On the farm, we have some old machinery and relics to browse around. We shear our sheep in July and crutch our sheep in February. The southern-hairy nosed wombats are out and about to see from approx. June to August.

We have lots of kilometres of coast line to explore and fish from, but I can’t guarantee the fish!! Fowlers Bay is 20kms south-east from us, which has enormous sand dunes, a jetty to fish off, a small kiosk and there is also a fishing charter boat there.

Maralinga  which is approx 5 hours drive north-west of us, crossing the east west trans-continental railway line, where the British did atomic bomb tests in the 50’s & 60’s is now open for tours.

160kms west of us is the start of the Nullarbor and the Head of Bight (the whales are only there between May/Oct), but the Bunda Cliffs are a great site, also approx 10kms north from Nullarbor Roadhouse (which is 12kms west of Head of Bight), there are caves to look at also. The roadhouse has mud maps for these available.
